Pledge of Allegiance

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a fairly quick patriotic card created with stamps, dies, lace and paper all from Stamp Simply.

I decided to pair two stamp sets, Old Glory and The Pledge of Allegiance along with paper from the Fourth of July from Carta Bella.

I enjoy playing along with online card challenges and will be linking this card to the Addictedto Stamps and More #466- Make Your Mark Challenge along with the Word Art Wednesday#643-644 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

To create this card:

Trim the two pieces of designer paper (the white lined and red starred) from the Carta Bella Fourth of July 6x6 paper pad to approx. 4” x 2.5” and layer onto a piece of white cardstock.

Ink The Pledge of Allegiance stamp with Versafine Black Onyx ink and stamp onto the lined designer paper

Ink the Patriotism sentiment from The Pledge of Allegiance stamp set with Versafine Black Onyx ink onto the star patterned paper, heat set with a heat tool.

Cut the dark blue lined designer paper to approx. 1 ½” x 4 “ and adhere a strip of the crochet lace behind the designer paper before adhering to the center of the card front.

Stamp the USA flag map image from Old Glory using Versafine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock, heat set the ink with a heat tool.

Watercolor the image with watercolor pencils and water-based markers before die cutting with the coordinating die (I also die cut two additional USA map images from plain white cardstock to layer behind the colored image).

Mount the layered panel onto a white card base.

To finish off the card, add a strip of red starred designer paper to the center.

TCC206 You Are Loved Beyond Measure

Hi Friends!

Welcome to our #206 {April Flowers} Challenge at the The Card Concept!

Look at that lovely bouquet!  I was inspired by the flower theme along with the aqua color to create a Clean and Layered card that could be used as an encouragement card (or for a friend at Mother’s Day).

I love the poppy image from the Pretty Poppies Bundle and paired it with a sentiment from the Farmhouse Simple Sentiments stamp set along with a piece of Craft Consortium Beach Hut 6x6 paper and the Lace Embossing Folder (all from Stamp Simply).

We are looking forward to seeing what inspires your card from our inspiration photo! Will it be the overall theme, the flowers, vase, the colors, textures or something else?

If you have not already visited us at The Card Concept, I hope you will find the time to do so.  Such wonderful inspiration from the rest of my DT sisters!

To create this card:

On a piece of white cardstock, de-static with an embossing powder tool, ink the poppy image from the Pretty Poppies Bundle with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto the prepared panel, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Watercolor the image with water-based markers and once dried, die cut with the coordinating die from the Pretty Poppies Bundle (also die cut another poppy image from white cardstock to layer behind the colored image).

Emboss a piece of 4” x 3 ½” piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Lace embossing folder, distress the edges with a distressing tool.

Cut a piece of the Beach Hut designer paper to 4” x 3”, de-static the panel and stamp the verse sentiment from the Farmhouse Simple Sentiments stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink,  apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Mount the sentiment panel onto the lower portion of a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock.

Layer the white embossed lace panel onto the card front overlapping the sentiment panel.

Add a strip of ¾” x 4 ¼” piece of black cardstock to cover the cut edges.

Mount the die cut floral image with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Charm Is Deceptive

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another fairly quick floral card that could be used as an encouragement, birthday or “Thinking of You” card using stamps, dies and paper all from Stamp Simply.

I decided to pair two stamp sets, Delightful Dahlia Bundle and Thinking of You Rose along with a piece of the Craft Consortium Rose Ink Drops paper.

To create this card:

Die cut a piece of 4 ¼” x 5 ½” white cardstock with the Sizzix Thinlits Dies by Tim Holtz- Mixed Media #1 and trim to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.

Adhere the die cut panel to a piece of the Rose Ink Drops paper (I cut the ink drops paper on an angle to cover just the die cut opening area).

Mount the layered panel onto a piece of black cardstock, trim close to the edge and adhere to a white card base.

Trim another scrap piece of the Rose Ink Drops paper to approx. 1” x 4” and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

Layer onto the card front.

De-static another piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the floral image from Delightful Dahlias with Versafine Black Onyx ink , apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, color the image with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die (I also die cut two additional pieces from white cardstock to layer behind the stamped image).

De-static another piece of white cardstock, stamp the verse sentiment from the Thinking of You Rose stamp set with Versafine Black Onyx ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the sentiment with the Fishtail Sentiment Banners die.

Use the same die to die cut another fishtail banner from black cardstock and layer behind the verse sentiment and adhere the sentiment to the card front.

Mount the floral image with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

He Has Risen!

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another fairly quick Resurrection card using stamps, dies, paper and pearls all from Stamp Simply.

As I mentioned before, I love all of the verses in the He Has Risen stamp set!  The fonts are gorgeous and the verses are perfect for Easter as well as throughout the year.

I decided to pair the He Has Risen stamp set with the Crosses Die and created the rolled flowers from the Craft Consortium Rose Ink Drops 6x6 paper.

To create this card:

Emboss a piece of 4 ¼” x 5 ½” white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Embossing Lumber Folder and trim to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.

Adhere the embossed lumber panel to a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” tent fold white card base.

De-static another piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from He Has Risen with Versamark ink, apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the embossed sentiment with the Farmhouse Sentiment Banners Dies (I also die cut another banner the same size from white cardstock to layer behind the embossed sentiment).

Mount the sentiment to the upper portion of the card front with dimensional foam.

Die cut the scroll from the Cinch and Go Flowers Dies from white cardstock and layer onto the card front.

Die cut the cross from gold mirror cardstock (FYI- I layered the gold cross onto two additional crosses die cut from white cardstock).

Adhere the cross to the card front with dimensional foam.

Die cut the leaves using the sprigs dies from the Floral Cluster and Sprigs Die from green cardstock and layer onto the card front.

Create three paper flowers from scrap pieces of the Rose Ink Drops paper using the Cinch and Go Flowers dies

Carefully “scrunch” up the die cut flower layers before adhering them together to create the flowers.

Adhere the flowers to the card front around the cross.

Add a pearl to the center of each flower.
